Full Alert (1997)

Why's this here? Go to about the 33 minute mark on the VCD (Disc 1) and watch that whopping car chase. Now, if you happen to drive in Hong Kong, you'll know that hardly a stretch of road is out of place in this scene. It's incredible. There's none of that rubbish where one moment they're in Wanchai, the next they're on The Peak, and then they end up so far out of town that taxis are no longer red. With the astounding continuity sussed, then check the background as Lau Ching-wan and company give high-speed chase from the Aberdeen Tunnel through Wanchai to Sheung Wan. Those trams they weave around really are full of people. Maniacs! And that's why I like this film ‚ when I see stuff like that I appreciate the effort the filmmakers made a) to actually film it and b) to edit it together intact. And the rest of the film's a blast too.
